Consciousness Evolution As Seen From The Eiffel Tower

Humankind has viewed compulsive thinking as a natural state and clarity as an occasional exception.  But what if clarity is our natural state and compulsive thinking is an aberration?

If you made a stack of Buddhist texts on how to deal with the monkey mind, how high would it be?
The Eiffel Tower springs to mind.
Mastering the monkey mind is a valuable skill to learn, of course.
But only if you have one.

What if the mental noise is a neurological disorder;  an evolutionary leftover from animal kingdom neurology that is out of place in our modern world?  Is that a more empowering perspective?

A large body of scientific evidence indicates the noise comes from neuronal hyperactivity in the default mode network and limbic lobe.
What if this imbalance could be normalized by changing the expression of a genetic switch? Would that be interesting?

What if the treatment was massively-scalable into the human population? Would that be transformative?

We have entered the Third Millennium, where possibilities are constrained only by imagination. Genetic technology will raise the science of consciousness to new heights, and open a future where
every individual can realize their cognitive potential.
